Design of a Circular Business Model and Stakeholder Dialogues

A director-major shareholder with a clear sustainable vision approached KORU for assistance in designing a circular business model. The process consisted of interactive sessions with team members from his own organisation and external stakeholders, such as suppliers and the house banker.

Step 1: From Vision to Structure

We started by mapping out the technical design of the business model: ‘What do you want to supply and to whom?’ This basis was then further developed together with the stakeholders in a workshop in which we investigated: ‘What are the benefits – financially, ecologically and socially?’

Step 3: Financial Breakdown and Scenarios

Based on the results, KORU translated the circular model into a financial scenario. The advantages and disadvantages for various stakeholders were calculated. The basic principle: create a win-win-win situation that yields value for all parties involved.

Step 4: From Prototype to Innovation

It turned out that not all stakeholders were immediately ready for a circular model. That is why we went back to the drawing board together with the company. With new insights and adjusted principles, we continued to work on the business model to make it truly distinctive and future-proof—away from traditional sales models and focused on structural sustainability. It turned out that not all stakeholders were immediately ready for a circular model.
